Kapama Southern Camp
Per Person Sharing
Limpopo is one of South Africa's lushest provinces and is home to a diverse range of wildlife and at least 350 bird species. Kapama Private Game Reserve helps preserve this natural bounty and its Southern Camp has garnered an unshakable reputation for its contemporary suites, very spacious family rooms, private lap pools and exciting bush activities that range from safari walks and traditional game drives to elephant-back safaris, hot-air balloon rides and interaction with a family of habituated elephants.
Guests have 13 000ha of pristine bush to explore, with the Klaserie Dam lying in the south of Kapama Reserve. Easily reached by flying to nearby Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport, Kapama Southern Camp has a range of accommodation options, from honeymooners who will be thrilled by having romantic fireplaces and outdoors showers all to themselves, to families where the children have a very comfortable bedroom to share. If you prefer to leave four walls behind for the night, enjoy a sleep-out under the stars with a 5-course dinner on an animal-proof raised platform, the tranquil sounds of the African night surrounding you…
The Kapama Wellness Centre allows guest to revel in lavish treatments – like the signature 4-hour Marula Miracle Moments – in one of the six private rooms. At night, settle in at the traditional outdoor boma, a bottle of fine South African wine chosen from the fine estate collection housed in the elegant glass cellar.

Kapama Southern Camp has seven luxury villas equipped with private lap pools, inside and outside showers, and romantic fireplaces that emit cosy warmth into the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. Three of these luxury villas can accommodate families and feature separate connected bedrooms for children. These are equipped with their own bathtubs, showers, double vanities and outside patios.
Kapama Southern Camp has a traditional boma and a large pool deck with an adjacent bar to pass sunny Limpopo afternoons.
Guests have access to the Kapama Wellness Centre, which has six treatment rooms, a lap pool and a well-equipped mini gym. For total relaxation, indulge in one of the full-day treatment packages that include special moments like the Kapama Moor Rasul treatment, the Kapama Pinotage bliss treatment and marble handprint ritual, topped off with a celebratory glass of champagne or Amarula, a local liqueur brewed from indigenous marula fruit.
Massages utilise traditional African calabashes and rungu batons, while ear candling offers welcome relief for those suffering from jet lag or sinus problems.
The little ones are not forgotten at the Kapama Wellness Centre. Age-appropriate massages and fun nail art treatments can be enjoyed with an adult present. Guests can also have a lesson in African cosmetics, using the patterns and colours inspired by traditional African make-up.
The spa uses Dermologica, Healing Earth (local products made from indigenous ingredients) and Moor Spa products in all its treatments.

The friendly barman is always on hand to shake up a refreshing cocktail or two. Breakfast and lunch buffets are enjoyed in the open-sided dining room, which allows you to keep an eye on the surrounding treetops for inquisitive vervet monkeys or birds like hoopoes and African hornbills. The focal point of the dining room is no doubt the elegant glass wine cellar, which houses a fine cross-section of some of the best South African vintages.
Should the weather play along, the chefs will light great fires in the traditional outdoor boma and cook dinner right on the open flame, African-style.

The Kapama was a nice lodge, much more luxurious than what I was expecting. Overall, a fine experience.
This luxurious resort including the service, staff, food and suite you had booked for us stood out as the best thing for us.
We all had a fabulous time at Kapama. We can't thank you enough. We loved our rooms, the wonderful staff and we had an incredibly successful safari! I would definitely go back there and recommend it to other people. We saw the Big 5 and more. Even the guide and tracker were amazed at what we all saw in the space of three days. We loved Kapama. Thank you so much for suggesting we go there for our safari. I think my Instagram says it all. I cannot thank you enough for pulling together an experience of a lifetime! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Whilst I was a slightly nervous traveler, my fears quickly went away upon realizing what a truly wonderful country South Africa is and the brilliant organisation that had gone into the fantastic and safe accommodation along with the seamless transfers.
Our accommodation was extraordinary. The room was awesome. We were all delighted. We enjoyed the walk on elephants! The safaris were great.
What I like about this lodge is that it has something for everyone, whether you are travelling together as a family, experiencing the bush as an independent traveller or enjoying a romantic getaway. The ranger and tracker team will help you to experience wildlife at its best.
