The River Lodge had a great location right next to the river and we had a lovely family suite with two rooms separated by a common area. I think we may have been upgraded but I am not sure. The ranger here was very child friendly and really engaged with us. We had a fantastic hippo sighting and an amazing encounter with elephants, again probably one of the best that we have experienced in 7 years. The evening meals were excellent although the afternoon “eats” were rather strange. A significant plus here was there were other activities such as taking the boat to the beach or going on a river safari and using canoes which meant that the time flew by. It also supports a local school which we had a moving visit to and will provide some financial support to.
