The exquisitely designed Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge provides a luxury safari experience in South Africa’s malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Situated under a grove of tamboti and marula trees on the edge of the Marico River, the lodge makes the most of its position and offers spectacular views from the main building and each private suite.
Knowledgable rangers guide you through this Big 5 Kalahari environment and will introduce you to its magnificent wildlife but part of the Madikwe Hills experience is back at camp with a health spa and fully-equipped gym, curio shop, swimming pool, library and wine cellar on hand to enhance your stay. Moreover, this family-friendly lodge welcomes children over the age of 12 and will provide them with their own game viewing activities.

Luxury Suite
The Luxury Suites at Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge are designed for complete comfort and relaxation, blending contemporary elegance with the natural beauty of the surrounding wilderness. Each spacious, glass-fronted suite features a private veranda and plunge pool offering sweeping views and exceptional privacy. The Honeymoon Suite offers a touch more elegance and space nestled among the granite boulders.
Thoughtful touches include air-conditioning, overhead fans, mosquito nets, cotton percale linen, a fully stocked minibar and comfortable lounge areas, creating a tranquil retreat between safari activities. The main lodge welcomes guests aged 12 years and older.
Little Madikwe
Little Madikwe is an exclusive-use private camp offering the ultimate safari retreat for families or small groups. Accommodating up to four guests in two beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, the villa combines complete privacy with personalised service in a spectacular wilderness setting.
Guests enjoy a dedicated game ranger and private safari vehicle, as well as the services of a personal butler and chef. A gourmet kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, entertainment facilities, private outdoor spaces and a plunge pool ensure a luxurious and intimate safari experience. Children of all ages are welcome, and a childminder can be arranged if required. For larger groups, two additional Luxury Suites can be reserved to create a fully private safari camp for up to eight guests.

Full English or buffet breakfasts are served after game drives each morning on the deck but the lodge likes to say that no two dinners will be the same.
From dining under the stars in the traditional African boma and candle-lit alfresco suppers in the bush to fine silver service dinners in the elegant dining room, expect fine cuisine accompanied by superb wines.
Private dinners are offered to couples who want to spend time together in the privacy of their own room or viewing deck.

Madikwe Hills was a perfect start. We were really educated by our guide, Greg, and our tracker, Johannes. We nearly saw all the Big 5! We were also fortunate to see a rhino carcass that was poached (the horn was taken away by an anti-poaching team luckily) and it was incredible.

Madikwe Hills – fabulous lodge with all of the perks. This lodge was an interesting contrast to Bukela. Both were very nice and wonderful experiences. But there was a very noticeable difference. The best analogy I can think of to compare them is that Madikwe is like a large chain store and Bukela is a mom and pop store. Both were very personal but Bukela was more quaint and homey while Madikwe had all of the luxury perks. I mentioned to the manager several times that I was impressed how not only he remembered the names of all of the guests, but every staff member as well, especially with the constant turnover of guests. Location was fantastic; we were treated to elephant shows right in front of our deck each afternoon!

The set-up at Madwike Hills Main Camp is very professional and the quality of service is excellent. The guides and trackers were great, so we saw the Big Five within 24 hours. They were knowledgeable and made the drives and the walks very interesting. I will certainly recommend Madwike Hills Main Camp to friends and family when they visit me in South Africa.

Wow! Thank you so much. Madikwe Hills was amazing. We got the big 4 in our first morning drive and picked up the leopard in the evening drive. Hannes is the consummate host and very helpful. Truly a wonderful experience. I would love to go back and will certainly recommend it.
