Nairobi Tented Camp
This charming tented camp is truly one of a kind. Set in Nairobi National Park – a genuine big game reserve on the outskirts of the city – Nairobi Tented Camp is tucked away in a beautiful riverine forest. This is an authentic safari camp experience and a great introduction to a Kenyan safari. It’s also the perfect place to see over 400 migratory and endemic bird species, as well as over 100 mammal species, including rhino (a very rare sighting in the Mara), buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, baboon, zebra, wildebeest and cheetah.
The perfect one- or 2-night stopover before or after your Kenya safari, Nairobi Tented Camp offers game drives and guided walks as well as opportunities to take in the city’s highlights such as the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum.
Make a Positive Impact Through TravelAsilia empowers crucial wilderness areas in East Africa, benefitting people and nature alike. By making bold, and often pioneering, investments into areas that are ecologically and economically vulnerable, Asilia aims to turn these areas into viable conservation economies, benefitting both the local communities as well as the environment. With the help of guests, who contribute a levy of US$ 5 for each night that they stay at an Asilia property, Asilia is able to make a significant positive impact towards their goal of empowering these areas, including the communities and wildlife that call them home. |

I originally wadn’t expecting much from Nairobi National Park, but we’ve had a very lovely moment thanks to Allan. Mother lion calling her cubs, Cubs hanging around having fun! Unfortunately, due to the long flight, I wasn’t feeling well the first night, but all the staff members at Nairobi Tented Camp did everything they could to make me feel better.
This is a real introduction to your safari: classic and authentic safari style accommodation. What’s more you have a good chance to see rhino which is pretty rare in other parts of the country so a good start or end to any safari if you want to tick off the Big Five.
An authentic tented camp within the Nairobi National Park for a pre-safari overnight to ease your way into the safari experience. A really warm and welcoming camp with great staff.
