The lodge's expert chefs create beautifully balanced menus inspired by seasonal ingredients and regional flavours, elevating every meal without losing a sense of warmth or ease. Every dish is carefully paired with sommelier-selected South African wines, rounding out an experience that feels unhurried, considered and deeply connected to your surroundings. Here, dining is not just about what's on the plate, but about where you are, what you're witnessing, and how the day on safari gently starts or comes to a close.

We LOVED the Royal Malewane. Literally everything about that place was top notch… we wished we could have had another day there. The accommodation, the staff, our guide, Jacques, was a “10”. The bush dinner, the food…can’t say enough about that place. And despite it being so upscale, it was warm, intimate, and so special. It was our favorite place.
‘There are very few words that can explain this property. It is one of the most luxrious lodges I have ever seen. Being the lodge that the likes of Elton John and Bono stay at, you can imagine that it is top-notch luxury. Everything is pristine and looked after, and the staff were my favourite part – they are SO friendly and helpful.’
Malewane was not far behind (when compared to Singita Ebony) and we were lucky to get Rudi as our ranger, as last time. He was great.
The service there is top class and the rangers are all exceptional. Everyone is friendly and nice, but maintain their professional behaviour at all times. Food was abundant and very good. The booze was plentiful and top shelf. We liked it very much at Royal Malawene.
Royal Malewane was just the best, perfect in every way and if I tried, I could not find anything that wasn’t just fabulous. The Ranger that we had, Juan, was so knowledgeable, personable etc.,game viewing, breathtaking, the lodge pure magic and the food fantastic.
