Turaco's location sets a precedent for wonderful chimpanzee encounters, with a 90% success rate of seeing the primate up close in Kibale Forest National Park. Explore the rainforest on foot or venture on a birding tour to spot some of the 375 species residing in the area. Get down and dirty during a swamp walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, or marvel at the volcanic activity-induced crater lakes via hiking or mountain biking.

Luxury Cottage
Constructed on stilts and stone columns, Turaco’s 8 luxury forest cottages are constructed in secluded locations within the forestland, hidden between the Kibale Forest’s treetops. Simple in structure and rustic in design, the upscale cottages resemble that of a children’s treehouse – a treehouse adorned with stylish, comfortable furnishings and contemporary décor.
You won’t be spending much time in the room, as the wooden deck offers beautiful forest views. Grab a cold drink or a good book, recline on the plush sun lounger and watch as the Great Blue Turaco or Black and White Colobus Monkey play in the greenery.
General Facilities
Evening's are best spent at the lodge's main building, where you can grab a cold drink at the bar and enjoy it either in the ground-level lounge area, where the wood-burning fireplace keeps the evening chill at bay, or while watching the sun set behind Mount Stanley from the first-floor lounge, an elevated cosy room boasting incredible views of the surrounding landscape.
If you're travelling with children, they'll be eager to jump into the 5×10 meter pool, get active on the playground or be entertained by the numerous activities offered in the kids' room.

Lovely forest setting, so you really feel that you are in the treetops. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and with balconies overlooking the forest. Nice facilities for children. Had lunch there, which was tasty just a very big portion!
