Namibia's Sossusvlei, Damaraland & Kunene Fly-In
This seven-day, six-night fly-in safari will see you uncovering some of Namibia's best-kept safari secrets and exploring some of its must-see destinations. Whether you find yourself surrounded by sand dunes or camped out alongside a river, the luxury accommodation options will ensure that you are able to relax and soak in the beauty of your surroundings.
First, you'll visit central Namibia to explore the world-famous dunes at Sossusvlei. Your lodgings here ensure that you have easy access to all of the region's unmissable activities, including hiking on sand dunes and exploring the desert via hot-air balloon or a scenic flight. Next, you'll head north to Twyfelfontein in the Kunene region to discover ancient rock art and geological sites that make this area so unique.
Further north still is Serra Cafema Camp, set under verdant trees along the banks of the Kunene River bordering Angola. The riverside location means that this desert camp offers a variety of unexpected activities like boating and quad biking. Plus, it offers the most authentic cultural experiences in all of Namibia.
This lodge is amazing. It is intimate and the service is customized. We had a double suite with the two buildings sharing a deck and plunge pool. They had outdoor beds that they would pull out from under the rooftop at night so you could sleep under the stars! There was a small spa where they offered massages and they even did a kiddie massage for the kids. The common areas are beautiful – a stunning lobby and lounge area, and a great library and game room. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind and great with the kids!
After touching down at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, you will be transferred to Little Kulala. Set in Namib-Naukluft National Park among the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib Desert, the lodge provides for easy access to the dunes and makes the most of the solitude and stark beauty of the surrounding desert.
Here, guests can enjoy activities such as nature drives and guided walks where they have the opportunity to spot wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich and a variety of reptiles. Those in search of unique perspectives of this stunning area are spoiled for choice, with hot-air balloon safaris and scenic flights before ending the day off with a stargazing safari and sleep-out experience.
Experience an early morning drive to visit the Sossusvlei area. Embark on a variety of activities from early morning guided game drives, nature drives, and walks on the private reserve. The Kulala Wilderness Reserve is home to all forms of hardy desert wildlife and fauna, so keep your eyes open for ostrich, springbok, and cheetah.

Damaraland was so different and we had a wonderful time there. The Rhino tracking was a highlight. We were lucky to see 2 rhino’s although we only got to track one on foot. A sighting of an elephant standing on hind feet to eat from the upper branches of a tree was another highlight. We enjoyed the visit to the Rock Art and the Damara Living History Museum. The final night featured a firelight dinner at the lodge’s rock boma. We were the only 2 guests at the lodge and it made for a surprising and delightful evening!
Breakfast at Little Kulala is followed by a trip to Doro Nawas Airstrip and a flight to Damaraland Camp in Namibia's Kunene region. This spectacular area is home to one of the most important and extensive collections of rock art in Africa as well as the Huab Valley, which is fed from a spring that attracted Stone Age hunters more than 6 000 years ago. Located along the banks of the Aba-Huab River, Damaraland Camp offers guests the opportunity to visit cultural and historic sites as well as striking geological formations in the area.

Serra Cafema was really nice. Our room had a fantastic view of the river and mountains. We enjoyed the activities offered, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the quad bikes. Food here was top notch and the management was always checking in.
In Namibia's far north lies the Kunene region. Its eponymous river, which is one of only five perennial rivers in the country, has been the mainstay of the local Himba people's existence for hundreds of years. You will be transferred here by air, travelling from Damaraland Camp to Doro Nawas Airstrip and on to Serra Cafema Camp. Set under verdant trees along the banks of the Kunene, the camp is an oasis in this desert landscape. Its unique location means that guests have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area on foot, by boat and via quadbike (ATV). What's more, Serra Cafema offers the most authentic Himba cultural experience in all of Namibia, giving guests the chance to meet and interact with these nomadic peoples to learn about their lifestyle and traditions.
