Damaraland Camp
Per Person Sharing
Eros Airport
Situated on the northern face of the Huab River valley and looking south towards the imposing Brandberg Mountains, Damaraland Camp is rated as the most successful eco-tourism venture in Namibia. It’s also big game country, and although wildlife is not concentrated like it is at Etosha, Damaraland Camp is situated where the rare desert-adapted elephant roams alongside gemsbok (oryx), springbok, ostrich and other hardy desert animals. Lion and black rhino are also sometimes seen.
This comfortable, friendly camp offers guided nature walks and game drives in one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Namibia. And when you aren’t out looking for wildlife, you can set off on a mountain bike excursion or head for to Twyfelfontein – a World Heritage Site – to view ancient Bushman rock art.

Damaraland Camp offers 10 simple, yet comfortably designed, thatch and canvas chalets with private verandas to make the most of the area’s stunning views. All chalets are en suite and are equipped with flush toilets and hot showers.
For families wanting to stay close, the family tent has two en-suite standard tents connected by a deck and walkway.
The simple and stylish main camp features extensive shady decks with scattered seating and a long communal dining table.
Adjacent to the bar, you’ll find the camp’s swimming pool where you can enjoy a refreshing swim after your activities, or you can laze around on the large day beds, admiring the desert landscape.
The campfire at Damaraland Camp sets the atmosphere in the evening, and is the perfect place to watch the sunset with a drink in hand after a day’s safari activities.
After dark, lanterns are lit to illuminate the walkways, and stargazers can enjoy an amazing, star-studded African sky.

Excellent meals are prepared with fresh produce that is flown into Damaraland Camp on a regular basis. The chefs and their team are very creative with their excellent African dishes and fine desert cuisine.
Meals can be enjoyed at the long dining table in the main area, but more often you'll dine outside around the open fire, your table lit by lanterns.
This Camp offers comfortable accommodation and great food. But what draws most is the sureal views, an opportunity to see the desert adapted elephants and the silence. When you leave your soul will feel renewed.

Damaraland was so different and we had a wonderful time there. The Rhino tracking was a highlight. We were lucky to see 2 rhino’s although we only got to track one on foot. A sighting of an elephant standing on hind feet to eat from the upper branches of a tree was another highlight. We enjoyed the visit to the Rock Art and the Damara Living History Museum. The final night featured a firelight dinner at the lodge’s rock boma. We were the only 2 guests at the lodge and it made for a surprising and delightful evening!

We had a great time in Namibia, especially in Damaraland where the lodge and activities were just fantastic.
Damaraland Camp is definitely a unique place with a very friendly and exotic atmosphere. Travellers should be advised that driving there takes a while.
