Itinerary information

Your safari adventure begins with a flight from Cape Town International Airport to Hoedspruit Airport, followed by a short road transfer to Kapama River Lodge. On arrival, you'll be welcomed with South Africa's world-famous hospitality and shown to your deluxe suite, positioned on the edge of the undulating bushveld.

Depending on your arrival time, your holiday begins with light refreshments before heading out for a late afternoon game drive, in the hopes of spotting a rhino as it emerges from a mud bath or giraffes browsing along the treetops. As the last rays of the sunlight sinks below the horizon, and you're holding a glass of wine in one hand, you're filled with eager anticipation for what tomorrow's safari will hold.

The full day is the best time to schedule a guided bush walk. This affords you the freedom to explore the park at a leisurely pace. While expert guides reveal the fine art of wildlife tracking to create a more interactive safari experience. In between your drives and walks, you're welcomed to book a massage or sip on drinks by the pool while the tranquil setting lulls you into a state of relaxation. As your final evening approaches, a last bush sundowner game drive will hopefully see you ticking-off those final wildlife sightings.

Kapama River Lodge ticks all the boxes for a quick, affordable Kruger safari—especially if you're adding it on to a Cape Town or Victoria Falls itinerary. It's stylish yet laid-back, and you don't have to compromise on the Big Five experience. The lodge is great for families, but also with a romantic edge (think: candlelit dinners in a dry riverbed). Easy to get to, easy to enjoy, and a great way to round off your Africa adventure.
