Day 1: Embark on your adventure | 3 Nights

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will be met and transferred to super-luxurious Ellerman House, a magnificent cliffside property that has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. After checking in and freshening up, spend the rest of the day exploring Cape Town's many colourful shops, museums, galleries and boutiques. Ellerman House is also close to top beaches at Clifton and Camps Bay.

Days 2-3: Tour the Mother City

There is more sightseeing to be had as you embark on an inclusive half-day Cape Town City Tour; you also get the chance to view Cape Town from the top of iconic Table Mountain, one of the stops on the tour. You have two full days to pack in the fun: visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and walk the tree-top 'Boomslang' walkway or the Two Oceans Aquarium, or head for the Constantia Wine Route for top-notch wine tasting. On one of your days in Cape Town you will be whisked off to the beautiful town of Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands for a full-day guided food tour. Sample delicious local cheeses, chocolate, charcuterie, wine and other delicacies as you nibble your way through South Africa's gastronomic capital.

Day 4: Experience luxury on Rovos Rail | 3 Nights

Transfer to Cape Town Station and board Rovos Rail's 'Pride of Africa' for your journey to Pretoria. Depart and spend the rest of the day at leisure aboard 'The Pride' - the South African steam train regarded as perhaps the most luxurious in the world. This is one of the most stylish and comfortable ways to view the ever-changing South African landscape - sit back and let the scenery unfold as you glide north.

Day 5: Making your way to Kimberley

You will arrive in the Karoo town of Matjiesfontein early in the morning for a brief visit to this historical railway town. The Pride of Africa will then continue through picturesque scenery while you enjoy lunch in the dining car.

Day 6-7: Kimberley & Arriving in Pretoria | 2 Nights

Shortly after breakfast you will arrive in the diamond town of Kimberley. Here you will spend the morning visiting the famous Big Hole and the Diamond Museum. You will also enjoy a trip on an old-fashioned tram. Upon returning to the train, lunch will be served and you will spend one more night onboard until you arrive in Pretoria the next morning. Once you have arrived in Pretoria, you will be transferred to Johannesburg to check in at the Saxon Boutique Hotel & Spa, whose grace and elegance match that found on the train.

Day 8: Bid a fond farewell

After breakfast you'll have just enough time to enjoy some last-minute shopping before being transfered to Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport to continue with your journey.
