Overview

Duke’s Camp has been set in a remote wilderness area that is on a channel of the northern Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most game-rich private concessions. With wildlife right on its doorstep, this unfenced camp is pure safari panache with all the bells and whistles of a luxury experience. It boasts the best safari guides in the business, in an area with healthy populations of lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant.

You will be immersed into adventure activities that include game drives, mokoro excursions, bush walks, fishing, and sunset boat trips. For the more adventurous of spirit, you can take to the skies in a hot air-balloon and enjoy a birds-eye view of this unspoilt wilderness sanctuary, or try a night fly-camping on a remote island. For a cultural sojourn, you can take a scenic helicopter flight to Tsodilo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is where over 4,500 ancient rock painting sites wait to be discovered and Delta bushcraft and lore come to life.

Back at camp, you can escape the African sun in the camp pool, with the chance of spotting wildlife from your lounger, or grab a drink from the well-stocked cabinets of the elegant Persian tea-tent with its own lounge area. When days come to an end, you can gather by a firepit after being wined and dined and share stories under a plethora of stars.

Rooms

Double Room

There are twelve canvas-walled safari tents that are raised on wooden decks. They are positioned between leadwood and ebony trees, with views that extend over this remote wilderness area. The décor of the tents is a much-celebrated vintage safari aesthetic that features plush fabrics, Persian rugs and hand-carved four-poster beds. Each tent has its own spacious en-suite bathroom with an indoor shower as well as a private viewing deck.

Facilities

When you aren’t enjoying the comforts of your luxury safari tent, you can simply relax in the main mess area, with a small lounge that features intricately carved tables, antique oriental rugs and campaign furniture. You can also take a dip in the camp pool and keep a look out for herds of elephants that are frequently sighted in the area.

Dining

Meals at Duke’s Camp are nothing short of a lavish safari affair complete with crystal glasses and antique silverware. Served in the communal dining tent, where a long vintage dining table takes centre stage or under the shade of giant leadwood trees, it is a celebration of fine food and wine in the African bush.
