The Linyanti Channel has a reputation among discerning safari goers as one of Botswana’s top wildlife gems. Situated between the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and Namibia’s verdant Caprivi Strip, Linyanti is a breath-taking water habitat fed by a permanent river system. At the heart of a private reserve lies Linyanti Ebony, a camp consisting of only four tents where guests can indulge in fantastic game viewing and superb bird watching, especially of raptors.
Although Linyanti is a year-round destination, it is at its best from June to October when animals migrate from the drier outer areas to take advantage of the water here, which also allows you to enjoy mokoro (dugout canoe) trips. Fly in from the Saile Airstrip and set off in an open 4x4 for game drivers or lift off in a helicopter for an awe-inspiring aerial tour of the area.
Back at camp, revel in being detached from the outside world as you slip into the rhythm of safari. After morning game drives and delectable buffet lunches, while away the afternoon at the plunge pool or on a nature walk to seek out more ‘ticks’ on your birding list. The entire camp can be reserved on an exclusive-use basis for extended families or large groups.
