Set in the 22 000ha Greater Makalali Conservancy in Limpopo Province, Little Garonga is a luxury tented bush camp just a few hours’ drive from Johannesburg and close to the Kruger National Park. Little Garonga is close to local airports and can also be accessed via domestic flights or private air charters.

There are only 3 sumptuous suites at Little Garonga which can be booked as a whole for families or groups. There are many opportunities to relax and soak up treatments from the lodge’s spa but it’s the game viewing that will be most memorable: go on daily game drives and guided walking safaris in search of classic African wildlife or arrange for a sleep-out under the stars for the ultimate in safari experiences.

Hambleden Suite

The Hambleden Suite, with the additional comfort of an extra 2-sleeper room, is the perfect family option. The suite has its own private swimming pool, mini-bar, indoor and outdoor lounge, and its large bathroom features a copper bath tub and both an indoor and outdoor shower.

You may also sleep out on your own at a location some 20 minutes from camp. Spend the night on a raised deck with stunning views over the reserve. A mouth-watering picnic hamper, drinks box and hot drinks are left for you, as is a radio, and you will be collected in the morning. A wash basin and toilet close by are provided. A truly magical experience!

Buckingham Suite

Each of the 3 en suite and air conditioned suites have a raised private deck and hammock from which to admire the scenery.

The Chiltern and Buckingham Suites each offer air-conditioned accommodation for 2 guests and incorporate indoor and outdoor lounges with private decks facing the reserve. Suitable for a couple sharing, both suites have a hammock and an en suite bedroom. The bathroom consists of a bath, basins and indoor and outdoor showers.

With an eye cast over every detail, the design and layout of Little Garonga aims to please. You can relax in an outdoor bathtub or pamper yourself with massages, reflexology and aromatherapy treatments, do a little shopping at the curio shop and have freshly-washed clothes care of the laundry service.

Enjoy an evening sundowner drink at the bar or light up a barbeque under the stars. There is a swimming pool to refresh yourself in between game drives and two lounges (indoor and outdoor) to unwind in with a good book or swap game drive stories with fellow guests.

A resident chef provides a variety of delicious meals at Little Garonga. You can enjoy sumptuous dishes complemented by South African wines and served on the wooden pool deck or in the main lounge. If you prefer a relaxed picnic lunch, this can be prearranged as part of the Little Garonga hospitality experience, and each suite has its own barbeque area.
