Oliver's Camp
Oliver’s Camp is situated in the exclusive and little-visited south-east region of the beautiful Tarangire National Park and offers an authentic African safari experience with the advantage of superior service and top quality guiding. With beautifully appointed tents available, Oliver’s delivers exclusivity in an area famous for its large numbers of elephants and big cats, while its wetland location produces excellent bird sightings.
Daily game drives showcase the spectacular wildlife of Tarangire, at no time more than from August to October when incredibly high concentrations of animals are found at nearby water sources. The camp also specialises in guided walking safaris, offering you the privilege of exploring a remote corner of Tarangire on foot with expert guides and a park ranger.
Make a Positive Impact Through TravelAsilia empowers crucial wilderness areas in East Africa, benefitting people and nature alike. By making bold, and often pioneering, investments into areas that are ecologically and economically vulnerable, Asilia aims to turn these areas into viable conservation economies, benefitting both the local communities as well as the environment. With the help of guests, who contribute a levy of US$ 10 for each night that they stay at an Asilia property, Asilia is able to make a significant positive impact towards their goal of empowering these areas, including the communities and wildlife that call them home. |

Oliver’s Camp has spacious tents to allow for the utmost privacy and exclusivity. Located near a permanent wetland and with excellent views, each thatch-covered tent features solid wooden furniture and en suite bathroom facilities that straddle the interior and exterior, creating a unique camping experience. Private verandas offer views of the baobab-studded Tarangire landscape.
Situated a kilometre down the river with views of the Minyonyo Pools are additional luxury family tents. Large decks give you ample space to witness the wildlife wandering to these pools. The furniture in each tent is beautifully constructed from reclaimed wood. Look up at the stars above you in the outdoor shower (there is also an indoor one).
There are a number of game viewing activities offered at Oliver’s Camp: 4 x 4 game drives with expert guides, guided walking safaris and exhilarating night game drives. But it’s not all about game viewing: after the excitement of the day, guests can relax at Oliver’s in leather armchairs in the main lounge or settle down in the library tent with a book or just get cosy at the fireplace with a refreshing sundowner drink. Alternatively, sundowner drinks can also be enjoyed on Oliver’s fantastic lookout deck.

We loved everything about it, great guides, and loved our waiter George – great personality.
Our favorite experiences were Oliver's Camp and Namiri Plains. The Asilia brand really goes above and beyond to think of everything and provide an intimate and customized experience. Our guides Innocent and Anderson were phenomenal. They advised that we could request them for next year via Asilia and would like to try to do this. If we were to choose, Tarangire was our favorite because of the abundance of wildlife at every turn.
Oliver's Camp was outstanding, Baraka and his staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The tents were lovely and the outside shower a must. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the walking and night safari's. Our tour guide Baraza made our trip, he was incredible, amazing at spotting animals, had extensive knowledge of all animals and had a unique ability in anticipating their movements, we saw lions hunting and killing their pray, and learnt so much, about life in Africa and the different cultures, thanks to him. I can definitely highly recommend Baraza as a tour guide.
Great location in the Tarangire National Park offering walking safari’s and night drives and incredible guides. Definately give the fly camping a go..what an experience!
I think the best camp was Oliver's with delicious food. Bryony and Michael couldn't leave their lodge on the last morning because 8 elephants were outside – that was such fun!
