Tree House

The lodge offers elevated rooms with perhaps some of the biggest bedrooms in East Africa. Beautifully furnished with locally-made pieces, Treetops' rooms create a warm and welcoming ambience. The tree house experience is enhanced by the open-fronted design of the rooms, delivering incredible views over the Tarangire landscape. Bathrooms are en suite and feature double showers.

Facilities

The main lodge, wrapped around an ancient Baobab tree features an expansive deck supporting an open-sided lounge and dining area. The lodge is decorated in local materials, African artifacts and reclaimed wood creating a rustic yet stylish atmosphere. A small curio shop is situated behind the reception area. Below the lounge and dining room is a peaceful swimming pool deck, an ideal place to relax with a good book and escape the African heat.

Dining

The creative menus at Tarangire Treetops try, wherever possible, to use locally sourced produce and draw on international themes with a modern twist on classic dishes. The dining area with its thatched roof and open sides provides a peaceful setting. Dinners are often moved to the traditional Boma with its roaring camp fire or around the swimming pool, lit by candles. Exotic bush breakfasts are also available. Tarangire Treetops

We took a flight to Tarangire Treetops. How amazing! The rooms are just what you would imagine if you were writing a storybook. The independent rooms are set up in the trees with winding staircases leading up to them. They have a trap door at the top of the stairs to keep animals out. The rooms were luxurious inside with beautiful characteristics. I loved the fixtures to include the shampoo and soap dispensers made out of ostrich eggs. Nicholas, our butler, was so warm and friendly. It was fantastic! We were there over Christmas and they had a lot of special touches to include Christmas presents, crackers at dinner, gingerbread cookies, and a Maasai dance performance at night. We also had an incredible opportunity to visit a Maasai village (a man and his 11 wives with their children and grandchildren). They performed singing and dancing. We were able to see inside one of the homes and purchase some of their handiwork. It was a very moving and memorable experience. Stanford took us on amazing safari drives. He was informative and as nice as could be. We saw hundreds of elephants, giraffes, antelope, and more. The scenery was beautiful. We didn’t see any other jeeps, aside from our companion jeep. It felt so private. What a privilege to see the animals in their natural habitat.
