Tarangire Treetops
Tarangire Treetops sits alone in a private game reserve which is home to buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant. The lodge consists of treehouses positioned on a hill with views to Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley wall.
You can spend your days enjoying game drives in the nearby national park in specially designed 4×4 vehicles with knowledgeable and entertaining driver-guides. Night drives are also available and will provide you with a different view of the diverse inhabitants of the bush.
Walking safaris are conducted by armed, highly trained and knowledgeable guides and give you the opportunity for an ‘up close and personal’ adventure. Between game viewing activities at Tarangire Treetops you can visit the local Maasai villages or relax by the pool overlooking the waterhole in the camp.
The perfect way to complete a day’s safari is at the Baobab Bar, built around a gracious old baobab tree, where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail while watching an incredible Tarangire sunset.

Such a wonderful, warm and friendly lodge. Tents on stilts offering beautiful views on the plains and the lake in the far distance. Well equipped tents. Game camera at the main lodge area that one an connect to and view the lodge sightings.
Tarangire Treetops has not disappointed. So many animals and such great pictures. Masai village visit; night tour with a lion; walking tour. We couldn't be happier. The staff and the facility itself have been lovely.
We took a flight to Tarangire Treetops. How amazing! The rooms are just what you would imagine if you were writing a storybook. The independent rooms are set up in the trees with winding staircases leading up to them. They have a trap door at the top of the stairs to keep animals out. The rooms were luxurious inside with beautiful characteristics. I loved the fixtures to include the shampoo and soap dispensers made out of ostrich eggs. Nicholas, our butler, was so warm and friendly. It was fantastic! We were there over Christmas and they had a lot of special touches to include Christmas presents, crackers at dinner, gingerbread cookies, and a Maasai dance performance at night. We also had an incredible opportunity to visit a Maasai village (a man and his 11 wives with their children and grandchildren). They performed singing and dancing. We were able to see inside one of the homes and purchase some of their handiwork. It was a very moving and memorable experience. Stanford took us on amazing safari drives. He was informative and as nice as could be. We saw hundreds of elephants, giraffes, antelope, and more. The scenery was beautiful. We didn't see any other jeeps, aside from our companion jeep. It felt so private. What a privilege to see the animals in their natural habitat.
Our absolute favorite accommodation! Great staff! Spacious, comfortable rooms. Enjoyed evening dinners with Maasai singing and dancing. We were glad to see that this lodge offered night-time game drives.
The room was beyond fabulous and there was a small group of elephants right outside the veranda… perfect! We loved our space and enjoyed being on the balcony immensely.
