The journeys that stay with you longest are often the ones that leave you feeling more deeply connected. To nature. To people. To place. To what matters most. And sometimes, all it takes is a photograph to bring those moments rushing back. Perhaps it's a leopard emerging from the shadows at dusk. A conversation around a campfire after an extraordinary day in the bush. The anticipation before your first gorilla trek. Or a landscape so vast and wild that you still find yourself thinking about it today.
At Go2Africa, we believe the most meaningful journeys are shaped by the moments, people, and places that leave a lasting impression. We also know that some of the best safari stories come from travellers who lived them. That's why we created Your Africa. Your Story. A storytelling-led photography competition celebrating the moments that shaped your connection to Africa. In partnership with FUJIFILM Australia, The Travel Shooters, and Craghoppers, we're inviting you to share a photograph and the story behind it. Not just what you saw, but how your experience connected you to Africa. Technical perfection is not the goal. What matters is the meaning behind the image.

Unlike many photography competitions, this isn't about being a professional photographer, owning expensive equipment, or having technical expertise. It's about the way you experienced Africa. Whether you captured your photograph on a professional camera, a compact travel camera, or your smartphone, you're welcome to enter. Whether your safari happened last month or ten years ago, your story is enough. The photograph is just the beginning. The story behind it is what matters most.
When you enter the competition, your photographs and stories will be reviewed by a panel of people who understand the power of meaningful travel experiences. Our judging panel includes renowned travel photographers Dan and Zora Avila of The Travel Shooters, alongside Go2Africa Africa Safari Expert Lucy Beveridge. Together, they'll be looking for photographs that capture not only what was seen, but what was felt. Watch the video below to hear more about the competition:

Safaris have the power to create meaningful connections, not only with places, but with the people and communities who call them home. That's why the grand prize isn't about where you'll go. It's also about the impact your journey can have. Through Go2Africa's partnership with Change A Life Bwindi, tourism in the region helps support community-led initiatives focused on sustainable livelihoods, education, conservation, and long-term wellbeing.
When you visit Bwindi, you'll experience one of Africa's most extraordinary wilderness areas while contributing to a broader story of conservation and coexistence. The best travel experiences don't just change the way you see the world. They leave a positive impact on the places and people that make them possible.
