Honeymoon Serengeti & Private Island
This 11-day, fly-in itinerary takes you through three of Tanzania’s top wildlife destinations – Lake Manyara and the Serengeti – for a diverse big game safari, before whisking you to a private island off the coast of Tanzania’s Dar Es Salaam, the tropical eco-paradise of Fanjove Private Island.
Your safari starts on the shore of Lake Manyara, home to flamingos and famous tree-climbing lions. Move on to the Serengeti, where you will have the chance to witness the Wildebeest Migration. This grand finale of your safari adventure features dramatic interaction between mega herds of wildebeest and Africa’s apex predator, lions. After six days of big game thrills, arrive in the Seychelles ready to relax and unwind. The atmosphere is idyllic and there is plenty to do when the mood strikes you.
Throughout this tour, your accommodation is comfortable and elegant. From safari lodges to the Serengeti’s authentic tented camp to LABA Fanjove Island. It is a once-in-a-lifetime itinerary, perfect for honeymooners or first-time travellers to Africa. The combination of safari and beach destinations ensures an ideal balance between action and relaxation.
When you book this safari Go2Africa will donate $5 to the VETA Hotel and Tourism Training Institute to support the annual sponsorship of two students.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (4 1/2 STAR rating) – Lots of animals (especially elephants up close) – lots of baboons (saw a troop of about 200-250 walking across an open grass area – very impressive) and saw my first leopard at about 600 yards in a tree with binoculars. Couldn't see much of him but he was there. Saw lions up close and my one and only flamingo.
Completely different experience than Chem Chem. Lake Manyara is more “jungle-like” although there are many open areas.
Staff, drivers and support personnel were all great. Room was excellent and well-appointed.
Depart after breakfast for your light aircraft flight to Lake Manyara, where a guide waits to meet you. They will drive you to Lake Manyara National Park and the grove of mahogany trees that shelters Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. This is the only lodge in the park, which makes for an exclusive and intimate atmosphere.
The thatched, stilted treehouse suites radiate from the central lounge, bar and dining area, each offering beautiful views. You will spend two nights here, enjoying morning and afternoon game drives, and exciting night drives. Expect a rich variety of natural habitats set around the lake, which is a sanctuary for flamingos and other waterbirds. The woodlands and open savannah plains support a large elephant population along with giraffe, buffalo, and a multitude of graceful antelope. Lake Manyara’s lions are the primary predators here and famous for their unusual habit of climbing trees.

The tent camp in Serengeti was the favorite for many of us. There, the highlight is absolutely outstanding staff who create ideal comfort under unreal circumstances. The kitchen is 5 star hotel quality which is even more unreal and they make it look easy with a smile. They serve candlelit dinners under the stars with lions roaring 200 meters away, what a place!
You are now off to the Serengeti. Your safari coincides with the Wildebeest Migration, a natural event that sees over a million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle follow the summer rains in a vast circular migration.
