Equipping Tanzanian Youth for Employment in Tourism

The VETA Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (VHTTI)-Njiro is a training facility overseen by Tanzania’s Vocational Educational and Training Authority (VETA) and located in the Njiro suburb of Arusha. Established in 2011, the training courses offered by VHTTI-Njiro are broken into:

  • Rooms Division
  • Food and Beverage Services/Sales
  • Culinary Arts
  • Tour Guiding and Travel Operations

The training courses can be in the form of short course training, or longer courses that can lead to securing diplomas or certificates.

VHTTI-Njiro also owns a three-star hotel, which apart from being used as a facility for students’ practical training, it also offers accommodation and conference facilities for workshops, seminars, and meetings to external guests.

VHTTI-Njiro strives to deliver effective training programs to equip Tanzanian youth with the right skill sets to find employment in the tourism sector, or to encourage entrepreneurship.
