Kenya's Community & Conservation Safari
This unforgettable Trip With a Purpose explores world-renowned wildlife destinations within one of Africa’s premier safari countries, Kenya. Both Amboseli and Masai Mara are two of Kenya’s most visited parks, for good reason. The camps included for each are in private conservancies—the best way to escape the crowds and enjoy pristine landscapes from the comfort of classic safari camps.
Ease in by starting off your adventure in the heart of Nairobi National Park. Unwind from a long flight as you take in the beautiful landscape around you at your first stop, Nairobi Tented Camp. From here, you can enjoy leisurely game drives, nature walks, and an outing into Nairobi. After just a taste of safari in Nairobi, begin your journey south to Amboseli National Park for incredible game viewing and quintessential views of legendary Mount Kilimanjaro. Conclude your Kenya circuit within the world-famous Masai Mara. Find yourself floating silently over its plains in a hot-air balloon basket, traversing its tracks through herds of wildebeest and zebra, and tracing trails on foot led by local Maasai guides.
This trip is perfect for anyone who has ever enjoyed a National Geographic documentary displaying dramatic and poignant scenes of Africa’s iconic wildlife; or felt a pull to experience first-hand the wild showcase of the reserves portrayed so compellingly by the beloved Sir David Attenborough.
I originally wadn’t expecting much from Nairobi National Park, but we’ve had a very lovely moment thanks to Allan. Mother lion calling her cubs, Cubs hanging around having fun! Unfortunately, due to the long flight, I wasn’t feeling well the first night, but all the staff members at Nairobi Tented Camp did everything they could to make me feel better.
After disembarking at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet your driver for your transfer to your first stop, Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park. Conveniently on the city’s doorstep, you will be on safari and surrounded by wilderness within just a couple of hours of touch down in Kenya’s capital.
The park’s proximity to the city gives you the unique chance to enjoy some time out exploring Nairobi. Plenty is on offer in this energetic city, including the Giraffe Centre, markets, the Karen Blixen Museum, and a highlight—Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s elephant orphanage. Here, vulnerable orphaned elephant calves receive a new chance at life and can look forward to a future being re-introduced back into the wild.
Rather than ending the day in a city hotel, head back into the reserve for a leisurely game drive, an ambient sundowner and a delicious dinner of local flavours. Being the only lodge in the park, it may feel as if the blanket of stars that emerges has done so just for you .
Easy game viewing & bird watching
An adventurous & romantic safari experience
Enjoy campfire sundowners in the evening
Attentive service & authentic safari cuisine
Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

A quick drive will bring you to the regional Wilson Airport where a chartered flight is ready for your trip south to Selenkay Conservancy, in the picturesque Amboseli National Park. Your driver and guide will meet you on arrival at the airstrip and your first game drive begins on your road transfer to Porini Amboseli Camp.
Porini’s exclusive location offers the flexibility of a private concession, but with direct access to the national park. Activities on offer idyllically combine iconic Amboseli views and excursions away from the crowds for the best possible game viewing experience. Besides big cat species, large herds of elephant, and other plains game, you can spot rare fauna such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, African wildcat and the lesser kudu. The Amboseli region is also home to over 420 bird species, which includes six varieties of vulture—a twitcher’s haven. But perhaps its most famous feature is its landmark view of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tastefully designed tents preserve the charm of the classic mobile safari camps yet modern conveniences ensure a comfortable stay. When not out on thrilling games drives and walking safaris led by Maasai guides, Porini Mara Camp offers a tranquil base from which to sit back and soak in the panoramic views. Enjoy a delicious sundowner as the horizon turns from peachy hues to dusky blues, before settling in for a scrumptious dinner and stories by the fire.
In the distance, Mount Kilimanjaro bids you farewell as you depart on your charter flight via Wilson Airport to your next iconic safari destination, the Masai Mara.
On arrival at Porini Mara Camp, take a moment to settle into your tent and admire the surrounding landscape which you get to call home for the next few days. Raised on wooden decks and shaded by abundant acacia trees, the spacious, traditional canvas tents serve as the perfect spot to relax and enjoy an armchair safari.
Located in the game-rich Ol Kinyei Conservancy adjoining both Masai Mara National Reserve and the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy, Porini is close to the action, yet conveniently within a private concession for ultimate flexibility. This provides guests a wild expanse to traverse on both day and night game drives.
If you are travelling in October or November, you could witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. One of the world’s Natural Wonders and an unforgettable spectacle, endless herds of wildebeest and zebra pass through the reserve on their circular route through the Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti. Not to be missed and available year-round is a hot-air balloon safari, where you can float serenely over the Mara and watch as day breaks over its endless plains.
After your last sunrise and scrumptious breakfast at Porini Mara Camp, enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure before gathering your bags to fly back to Nairobi for your journey onward.
