Mana Pools & Lake Kariba
As Zimbabwe's star rises as a top African safari destination, discover its pristine wilderness and untamed beauty on this 7-day exploration of Mana Pools and Lake Kariba. A seamless safari sojourn, perfectly capturing the spellbinding landscapes and wildlife of Zimbabwe's reserves and waterways.
Your journey begins at Nyamatusi Camp in Mana Pools, where three nights of enchantment await you. Explore the serene Zambezi River with river activities such as canoeing safaris and boat cruises. Experience the reserve on thrilling game drives and walking safaris, all enriched by expert guides.
The next three nights find you at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, perched on the remote hills that cradle Lake Kariba. The lake's incredible vistas and the lodge's celebrated infinity-edge pool create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. Apart from daily game drives, enjoy boat cruises as the sun casts its golden glow over the water, followed by delectable dinners out under the stars.
Ideal for those seeking a unique safari experience, this journey is wonderful for second-time visitors or pairs well with a South Africa and Victoria Falls trip. Hassle-free air transfers eliminate long, bumpy road transfers, making travel time shorter and more enjoyable.
Being able to get out of the truck and walk in the bush to see a fresh lion kill up close was a highlight. Having our guide look after us from pick up to drop off and everything in between was awesome. I still miss Yona!
Check in to your flight at Victoria Falls International Airport for your small plane transfer to Mana Pools airstrip, where you will be met by your guide for the drive to camp. Arrive at Nyamatusi Tented Camp to a warm welcome by the staff and a fresh beverage.
Before settling into your spacious, river-facing suite, you'll have a moment to relax in the lounge as you are briefed on the lodge and your stay. This is the perfect moment to take a deep breath as you take in the peaceful African riverine setting and feel the weight lift off your shoulders.
Located close to the meandering Zambezi River which nourishes the lush surroundings, Nyamatusi opens its doors seasonally from April to November. This means that the animals in this area are free from human contact for up to six months of the year, creating truly raw encounters in season.
