Overview

Tanzania is one of the brightest gems in Africa’s safari crown. With one-third of the country’s land protected for wildlife conservation, East Africa’s largest country is home to some of the most magical safari experiences. And this tour aims to prove just that.

You’ll spend eight unforgettable days exploring world-famous safari destinations like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, as well as the hidden gem, Tarangire National Park. Wildlife is abundant, natural beauty is all around and the adventures you’ll have will be the stuff dreams are made of. Scale the Olmoti Crater, head out into the wilderness before dawn in search of big game and, if you time it right, witness one of nature’s most wonderful phenomena – the Great Wildebeest Migration.

The cherry on top of this grand tour through Tanzania is the amazing accommodations where you will rest your head after days on the African plains. Each of the three tented camps is stylish, contemporary and comfortable, bringing safari-chic luxury to the African bushland. The right mix of authenticity and modern comfort ensures that you get the full safari experience from the lap of luxury.

Tarangire, Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! Your journey begins when stepping off your inbound flight at Kilimanjaro International Airport. From here, a comfortable transfer takes you to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its exclusivity away from the crowds and thriving wildlife, particularly elephant.

Your home for the first two nights is Little Oliver’s, a charming tented camp that provides an authentic safari experience in comfort and style. Enjoy day and night drives around the park, spotting the healthy population of elephant and lion in their natural habitat. Or switch it up and explore your surroundings on foot. Even downtime is a treat at Little Oliver’s, as guests can watch elephant and giraffe roam the floodplains below camp.

Day 3-5: Spotting elephants and scaling volcanoes in Ngorongoro | 2 Nights

Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Your last few moments in Tarangire are spent enjoying a lovely breakfast before you’re whisked away to the next destination. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a must-see stop on any Tanzanian circuit. The region is renowned for being home to large herds of wildebeest and the world’s largest volcanic caldera – the Ngorongoro Crater.

The two days you’ll spend at The Highlands is sure to be the highlight of your trip. The award-winning camp’s unique design, tasteful décor and state-of-the-art facilities and amenities are almost as breathtaking as the natural beauty that surrounds it. Unfortunately, you won’t be seeing much of this architectural wonder as your days will be packed with a variety of activities. Day-long game drives in search of lion, elephant and giraffe; hikes up to the top of the Olmoti volcano; visits to the local village; and treks to the glistening Empakaai Crater Lake – these are the fun-filled adventures that await you during this leg of your trip.

Day 5-8: Roughing it in style in the Serengeti | 3 Nights

Up arrow
Serengeti, Tanzania

The final stop on your Tanzanian wilderness tour is none other than the iconic Serengeti. You’ll be ending your trip off with a bang in one of Africa’s premier safari destinations. And, if you’re here between January and March, you may get the chance to see one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the Wildebeest Migration.

Dunia Camp is an intimate, mobile camp that makes ‘roughing it’ in the African wild an absolute joy. Here, you’ll traverse the rugged landscape in search of the immense wildlife roaming the area, including cheetahs, leopard and elephant. You may even see a lion perched atop the nearby Moru Kopjes’ granite boulders, scanning the plains for their next meal. And, of course, if you plan your trip just right, Dunia Camp is on the migratory route, providing front-row seats to the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra as they go in search of better grazing.
