Your Rovos Rail luxury train journey begins in Pretoria and moves westward into Botswana before turning north along the eastern border towards Zimbabwe. After crossing over into Zimbabwe, your journey winds north through Bulawayo and the Hwange National Park on its way to the majestic Victoria Falls.

Enjoy a glass of champagne before The Pride of Africa departs from Rovos Rail’s private Capital Park Station in Pretoria. Enjoy a delicious lunch in the dining car with a view of the passing landscape as the train heads north to Zeerust. Dine on a sumptuous dinner as the train passes through the Magaliesburg Range on its way to Mahikeng.
Spend the morning relaxing on board as the train proceeds through the landscapes of Botswana towards Zimbabwe. Enjoy the scenery from the observation car, with its enlarged windows and open-air balconies, as you travel up the eastern portion of Botswana before crossing into Zimbabwe. Your overnight stop is at Mpopoma.
Today you travel along the eastern border of Hwange National Park, the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe, on one of the continent’s longest stretches of straight railway line, which measures 114km (70 miles). Stop at Kennedy Station for the game drive at The Hide before reboarding for dinner and your overnight stop at Thompson Junction.
Enjoy a final leisurely breakfast on board as you chuff towards Victoria Falls, one of Africa’s all-time great spectacles and a bucket-list item for many travellers. Your journey ends at the Falls, where you can choose to stay on and indulge in anything from game viewing and white-water rafting to sunset cruises and high-octane bungee jumping!
