Zambia is one of the must-visit Southern African destinations, offering a classic safari experience. This once-in-a-lifetime itinerary blends iconic bush landscapes, rich biodiversity of wildlife, and exciting safari excursions with the luxury and comfort of award-winning accommodations.
Your adventure begins with a three-night stay at the famed Sausage Tree Camp, where you'll experience unforgettable sunset canoeing trips on the Zambezi River. Next, you'll journey to Shawa Luangwa to experience an authentic African walking safari and an e-cruiser game drive. Under the guidance of an expert ranger, you'll explore the grassy floodplains to seek out shy leopards. Your last three nights are spent at Tongabezi Lodge, an award-winning honeymoon destination that offers an exclusive mix of wildlife adventures and cultural explorations.
You'll explore three iconic nature reserves: Lower Zambezi National Park, South Luangwa National Park, and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park — all while maintaining a low carbon footprint with e-cruiser game drives and electrical boating expeditions. You'd be remiss to skip the endless offerings of eco-conscious activities that not only supports the protection of Zambia's diverse wildlife but also seeks to uplift the local communities situated around these parks.
Perched on the shaded river bank this luxury camp offers some wonderful experiences from guided walks to canoe trails, lunches with your toes in the water to romantic dining under the stars. After an extended walk (the region is known for its walking safaris) relax at the rim flow pool and unwind before heading out on sunset game drive or boat cruise. Romantic, intimate and luxurious this camp would be ideal for honeymooners or families with teens.
Upon arrival in Lusaka, fly to Jeki Airstrip where a friendly guide will meet you for a game drive transfer through scenic Lower Zambezi National Park to your first stay in a sophisticated Bedouin-style tent at Sausage Tree Camp. Set along a tranquil stretch of the Zambezi River, the lodge offers luxury suites inviting you to indulge in opulence with palatial four-poster beds and a private butler, all surrounded by breathtaking wilderness.
Lower Zambezi National Park is often described as one of Africa's most scenic reserves, renowned for its picturesque landscapes — from sprawling riverine ecosystems and seasonally inundated floodplains to expansive woodlands and dry savannas. The region is inhabited by a rich display of majestic wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles that can be seen navigating the Zambezi River channels, as well as large herds of buffaloes that migrate along the undulating floodplains.
Sausage Tree Camp offers personalized safari itineraries that promise an eventful three-night stay. Begin each day with a tasty breakfast before engaging in a leisurely morning activity such as canoeing along the tranquil riverbanks, guided walking safaris through the savanna, or a gentle game drive to spot predators.
