Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, I was fortunate to travel to different safari locations in Kenya from the tender age of 10 years mainly visiting Amboseli National Park, Maasai Mara and Samburu. I went on to study and graduated from uni with a degree in business and information technology from Strathmore University only to later realise that my true passion is tourism.
As a Safari Expert for the last 15 years, I've been able to combine my business acumen with my talent for creating outstanding custom safari itineraries for our clients. I specialise in tailor-made East Africa safaris to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, having travelled throughout these countries myself. I tap into my strengths of interpersonal communication and relentless execution of details, ensuring that Go2Africa travellers are prepared to have the most seamless and epic adventures possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy road trips out of town with my son, seeking new personal adventures including ‘glamping'!
I've had many memorable experiences throughout my travels out in the bush but one that is still etched in my mind is the amazing scenic flight that I was fortunate to part of; we flew from Lewa Conservancy, low flying in tandem aboard baby caravans, as we searched for wildlife and specifically elephants along the Ewaso Nyiro river ending at a sundowner stop right in the heart of Samburu land. This was an out of body experience for me that I wish for all our guests!
Other memorable experiences include witnessing a cheetah kill in Maasai Mara, wildebeest river crossings in Northern Serengeti and a dawn balloon flight over the Mara River.
If I could pick one, it's knowing that past clients felt that the trip I organised to Southern Tanzania parks of Katavi, Ruaha and Nyerere exceeded their expectations. They saw biggest range of wildlife as anyone could want and took an impressive 10,000 pictures. They felt they were treated as king and queen at each location, had exclusive sightings, and the best guides all through their safari.
I understand that planning a trip can be a bit overwhelming but scaling down to what you would like to experience, the type of traveller you are, accommodation you prefer, and typical length of time you would like to be on safari can help you narrow down to the destination that will best suit your trip.
Also knowing that each safari day is different and acknowledging that you are in nature where nothing is predictable gives you the excitement once you get to a sighting. Guides have a wealth of knowledge so engage with them, ask questions, and be curious – you'll be surprised at how impactful game drives (even without much wildlife sightings) can be, and so insightful! There is always a lot to learn about animal behaviour, landscapes ,and just how plants and animals depend on each other.
