Buhoma Lodge
Kihihi‚ Uganda
Buhoma Lodge is one of the original camps in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the some of the last remaining bands of endangered mountain gorillas. The camp is located within the park and enjoys views over the lush forest canopy.
Buhoma has an intimate, homely atmosphere; during the cool evenings, you can sit by the fire in the lounge and chat about your day’s adventures. Return to your room, which is heated by hot coals and hot-water bottles in your bed, for a peaceful night’s sleep. This is a good base from which to trek into the ancient rainforest in search of gorillas, a truly life-changing activity. Other less strenuous activities include scenic forest walks, birdwatching, and searching for smaller primates.

The staff at Buhoma Lodge in Buhoma are honestly fantastic. Everyone knew my name and took really great care of me every day that I was there. It was very comfortable and I loved that the cabins were basically treehouses. I recommended this place throughout the rest of my trip, and I would insist on staying here again if I was to gorilla trek in Uganda again.
exceptional. Exceptional service (especially from Frank and the manager). Great food, great rooms. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and like family. “Itchy” ensured our transfers and activities went smoothly. Gorilla trekking was a wonderful experience. Buhoma Lodge and their staff was our favorite accommodation of the whole journey.

Excellent setting in the middle of the Bwindi Forest. Excellent views from the dining room and the people were very friendly and helpful. Food also of very high quality.
Buhoma Lodge was also excellent in all ways. The location, staff, accommodations, and food were all first-class. Our room, up two flights of 77 steps, had a magnificent view of Bwindi Forest, and was very comfortable.
