Set in nearly three acres of lush gardens, House of Waine is a boutique hotel located in a peaceful enclave of Nairobi. It provides a serene gateway in a tranquil setting, while still remaining close enough to the hustle and bustle of top attractions. Offering great value and exceptional service, House of Waine is an ideal place to enjoy a pre- or post-safari stop over.
See wildlife in the Nairobi National Park and the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, visit the nearby Giraffe Centre or explore the bustling and vibrant city of Nairobi. There are a number of galleries and museums to visit for an insight into local culture and history, or simply relax at the hotel where you can enjoy an elegant high tea in the afternoon.
House of Waine was once a private house and this ‘home from home’ feeling is still to be found here. The suites are named after aspects of Kenyan culture and decorated to match: the Bustani Suite, for example, reflects the garden (‘bustani’ means garden in Swahili) while the Ziwa Room echoes the blues of Lake Ziwa. There is a very large Presidential Suite and the manicured garden houses a heated swimming pool.

With accommodations to comfortably sleep three adults, including en-suite facilities, it offers the ideal blend of comfort and convenience. The cottage has a private dining room, complemented by a full kitchen. Outside, a charming private garden awaits, perfect for relaxation or alfresco dining. Additionally, for families with infants, a cot is readily available upon prior request.
Malaika Suite
The Malaika Suite at House of Waine is the epitome of elegance, offering ample space with a lounge and spacious en suite bathroom. Large windows overlook the lush gardens, flooding the suite with natural light. A private terrace adds to the charm, providing a serene spot for relaxation. Perfect for couples seeking a luxurious retreat.
Standard Room
House of Waine provides accommodation in individually styled and decorated rooms with large windows, some of which look out over the garden. The en suite bathrooms feature marble tubs, and are also flooded by natural light. Each room is equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, an internet connection, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities. Should you require, there is one set of Standard Rooms which can interconnect.

From the moment we walked in the door at around 2am to the moment we left we could not fault the rooms, food, service and ambience. We stayed in the Safari room at first and when we returned from our visit to the Mara we were very pleasantly surprised to find that we had been allocated the Malaika Suite for our final 3 days. We were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and were treated to a wonderful evening, which was followed by a special cake. The team of staff make this Hotel special and they are so genuinely attentive. The birdsong in the peaceful garden enable the guest to completely relax and we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. ASANTE SANA to all at the House of Waine for making our special Anniversary an unforgettable one!

House of Waine – absolutely fantastic! Amazing service from start to finish, and Nick had contacted them to arrange a surprise birthday dinner for me, which they set up in a private area just for the two of us with an open fire and rose petals everywhere. The room was beautiful and also filled with gorgeous rose petals, and the garden areas and setting really made you feel a world away from the city. It was such a fabulous place – I would absolutely recommend it and wish we were there for longer!
