Overview of Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp

In the northern most corner of the Kruger National park lies the Pafuri Tented Camp, set for a luxurious stay and encounters with some of Africa's greatest loved wildlife. Embark on daily adventures and return to the retreat of your tranquil tented camp.

Awake to the song of bird and crossing of elephants from your very own veranda. Prepare for a day of adventure with twice daily walking and driving safaris. Popular wildlife sightings such as buffalo, leopard, antelope and hyena can be experienced on thrilling safaris. The property falls on a RAMSAR protected wetlands pan and is home to over 450 species of birds. Iconic sites for exploration include Lanner Gorge, Crookes Corner and the Fever Tree Forest. Local ancestral knowledge of the area is a stand-out at Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp, with 95% of the staff hailing from the local community. Share in the magic of the area on foot with your local expert guides or indulge in the setting of the campsite from your tented room or main lounge.

Pafuri Tented Camp offers an array of unique experiences, a mesmerizing environment of historical and geographical importance, abundant biodiversity, and a base of exceptional comfort from spa treatments to pool-side enjoyment and alfresco dining. The Pafuri region makes up of around 1% of Kruger, and yet contains 75% of Kruger’s biodiversity. This makes it Kruger’s most biodiverse region due to the varied landscapes including floodplains, pans, baobabs, fever tree forests, riverine habitats and rocky outcrops. This biodiversity not only makes the area incredibly scenic but also attracts a plethora of species for varied game viewing and birding.

Pafuri Luxury Tent

The tented camp has a light ecological footprint with wooden accents, The design takes its inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Acacia forest. Spacious and elevated, the rooms are open and light. The rooms come complete with both an indoor and outdoor shower. Each room includes a serene, private deck area to lounge and unwind with uninterrupted views, listening to the sounds of the wildlife surrounding the camp.

Indulge in spa treatments or lounge poolside, where you are separated from wildlife crossing the Luvuvhu River by only a deck. The camp is powered by solar energy, and you'll love the large, open-air deck restaurant and bush bar for sunset cocktails.
