Ideal for nature-lovers and romantics, this itinerary takes you through some of Kenya's most beautiful landscapes paired with intimate, exclusive accommodation that keep your comfortable throughout your visit.
Start in Samburu, a unique wildlife destination promising exciting big game sightings, cultural explorations of ancient mountains and rock art led by Samburu warriors, and an indescribable stay at a lodge built into and around a giant volcanic rock face.
Next is a visit to the iconic Masai Mara. Stay at classic under-canvas tented camp that immerses you in the untouched surrounding nature without foregoing modern comforts. Conclude this fantastic 10-day Kenya bush and beach tour with a tropical island escape. Stay at the tranquil resort of Manda Bay, a boutique hotel in the paradisical Lamu Archipelago. Indulge in barefoot luxury experiences, ranging from poolside lounging and slow-paced sunset cruises on the Indian Ocean to more adventurous escapades, like scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, and kite surfing.
Saruni Samburu was an amazing lodge. Unfortunately, the terrain was difficult for me to navigate. I had a very hard time getting around. We were scheduled for Villa 6A, but there was no way I was going to be able to get there (that’s as far as you can get from the main area; very difficult for anyone with mobility issues). So, Nicole (the lodge manager) very kindly switched us to Villa 2 and then the next day let us move to the family villa. There, they were able to come pick me up in the jeep right in front of the villa. Also, they brought the massage bed to the villa because I wasn’t able to get to the wellness building. Nicole went way out of her way to accommodate my disability and I really appreciate it. Hussen was our main waiter and Jimmy was our driver/guide. Both were very helpful and kind. Even with my mobility issues, I’m glad we got to stay at Saruni Samburu Lodge.
Saruni Wild was also extremely nice and the staff there were very gracious. Again, we were scheduled for the furthest villa (although the terrain there was much easier to walk on). Barbara suggested we move on our second night to the family unit, much closer to the main area. She was very gracious and helpful. Moses and William, our servers/caretakers, were wonderful, fun, and helpful. Our driver/guide was Chris and he was great. We saw many amazing animals on all of our game drives, both in Samburu and in Masai. We did have a private vehicle for the three days in Masai, but we didn’t have park tickets to the Masai Mara park.
