10 days
First-timers to Africa will love this 10-day itinerary that sees you in three of the continent's most popular areas, with time in Cape Town, Greater Kruger and Victoria Falls. Flying between destinations will save you plenty of time and means you have longer on the ground to enjoy Table Mountain, the Cape Winelands, the Big 5 and the world's largest waterfall.
You kick off in a centrally located hotel in Cape Town, followed by a stunning bush lodge and finish with two nights in Zambia, all with excellent value for money.
Four Rosemead is set in a beautiful and tranquil garden while the reception area is in a heritage building. This is refined fresh accommodation in a great location.
As the oldest city in South Africa, Cape Town is fondly known as the ‘Mother City’ and many people have fallen in love with its warm and friendly embrace. On touching down at Cape Town International Airport, your driver will be waiting to whisk you to Four Rosmead Boutique Guesthouse, your home away from home for the next four nights.
Four Rosmead is located in the quiet, yet central suburb of Oranjezicht with views of Lions Head and Table Mountain. You’re a short drive from the foodie-paradise, Kloof Street, Table Mountain, Camp’s Bay and Clifton beaches, and much more. Also within easy reach is Sea Point, the V&A Waterfront and the city centre. Your accommodation is on a B&B basis, meaning you are free to discover the many exciting markets and top-notch eateries Cape Town offers.
Renting a car will allow you to go further afield and see Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, the penguins at Boulders Beach, Cape Point and, of course, the exquisite Winelands in Constantia, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

I must say, my heart still belongs to Kapama Buffalo Camp. There is just something special about the place and I can't put my finger on it. In Hawaii, we called it ”ohana”, a feeling of family. The genuine welcome and warmth just created a special atmosphere that both my friends felt as well.
After getting your fill of Cape Town, your driver will return you to Cape Town International Airport for the short-haul flight to Hoedspruit Airport near the Kruger National Park. You will be swapping skyscrapers for safari suites, all in the name of tracking the Big 5: rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard and lion.
In fact, your lodge is named after one of the most inscrutable members of this group. Kapama Buffalo Camp is built among the trees and its spacious suites are connected by wooden walkways. This portion of your trip is all-inclusive, meaning you will enjoy meals and sundowners with the Kapama family.
No matter what time of year you travel, the Greater Kruger area is always alive with wildlife. If you enjoy birding, then aim to visit over summer when all the migrant species have settled in to pass the northern hemisphere’s icy winter.
Fully Inclusive (All Meals, Selected Beverages)

Once you see and hear the Victoria Falls, you will quickly understand why the traditional name ‘Mosi oa Tunya’ is so apt. Meaning ‘the smoke that thunders’, it refers to the huge spray and colossal noise that thousands of litres of water plummeting over the edge of Batoka Gorge make.
After an early morning transfer from Kapama to Nelspruit’s international airport, board your flight to Victoria Falls Town on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls. Your time here is spent at Insika Lodge, a sanctury of nature surrounded by trees with a waterhole for passing wildlife such as small antelope. It has a sparkling swimming pool, bar, restaurant and offers an array of activities.
If the activity options at Insika are not enough, Victoria Falls also offers a myriad of adventures. You can take microlight or helicopter flips over the Falls, go white-water rafting in season, take tea on Livingstone Island, swim in Devil’s Pool, go bungee jumping and bridge swinging and even track rhinos in Mosi oa Tunya National Park.
Half Board
After enjoying one last breakfast at Insika Lodge, it is back to Victoria Falls International Airport for a flight to Johannesburg where you can continue your journey home or onward.

Perfect for the traveller who likes some variety in their itinerary, you'll enjoy an 'urban safari' in beautiful Cape Town before trading city for bush with a classic Big 5 game viewing in the Kruger. Top this incredible adventure off with a few days in Victoria Falls, exploring the iconic waterfall through a variety of thrilling activities, like bungee jumping and white-water rafting.
