Cape Town International Airport
This amazing South African adventure combines the beautiful city of Cape Town with the nearby Cape Winelands and Kruger – South Africa's premier safari destination. The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is your base in Cape Town. An exceptional boutique hotel in the fashionable city neighbourhood of Gardens close to vibrant Kloof and Bree Streets. Settle in and prepare to explore Cape Town!
Head out on a drive around the Peninsula and its many attractions: take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, go shopping at the V&A Waterfront, relax on Camps Bay beach or enjoy a trip out to Robben Island, or Cape Point via the penguin colony at Boulders Beach – the choice is yours.
Franschhoek is your next stop: a foodie haven amid spectacular vineyards. This charming village is the ideal place for shopping, dining, wine tasting and just recharging. The views are beautiful and there is plenty to see and do, including hopping on the famous Wine Tram that will shuttle you to some of the best wine estates in the area.
The rest of the trip sees you whisked off to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger area for a high-octane Big 5 safari with an excellent chance of magnificent leopard sightings. Your accommodation—Lion Sands River Lodge—is among the loveliest in the region and a welcome haven between early morning and late afternoon game drives.
The Cape Cadogan Hotel in Cape Town has got to be one of the best hotels ever, and the restaurant next door was also superb.

We went to Mt. Rochelle, but we did not know it was owned by Sir Richard Branson. We had a corner room and a beautiful view of the vineyards, and you even controlled the weather; not until we were there, did we experience our first rain day of the 20 days. The property was not fully booked and we truly felt like honored guests. Again, Ramona you were right, it was time to just relax and we did.
Say goodbye to Cape Town and meet your transfer driver at reception to head off into the beautiful Cape Winelands, an area about an hour's drive from the city and home to gorgeous traditional towns and sweeping wine estates in a mountain valley setting.
Arrive at the luxurious Mont Rochelle Hotel in the vineyards of a beautiful wine estate overlooking Franschhoek – a charming mountainside town that is home to the finest gourmet dining and wineries in the country. Sip on the estate's fine wines as the sun's descent over the valley turns the mountains the most beautiful shades of peachy pink.
A luxurious electric car will collect you on day three for a guided Organic Wines, Gardens & Farm Experience. Visit farms that have a sustainable footprint, hand pick from farm gardens of beauty and diversity, taste a glorious selection of fine wines and dine on delicious menus designed with the best seasonal produce.
Spend the rest of your time in the Winelands exploring this famously scenic region: you can enjoy a horseback ride through the vineyards, embark on a wine-and-chocolate tasting excursion, visit boutiques and galleries or just revel in the romantic ambience of the area.

Lion Sands River Lodge is excellent, outstanding and wonderful. We met wonderful people there, absolutely loved our guide and it definitely exceeded expectations. We are already talking about our next safari!
After a road transfer to Cape Town International Airport, check in to your flight to Skukuza Airport. Upon arrival at Skukuza, meet your guide for your road transfer to Lion Sands River Lodge. Set within Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, a game-rich, exclusive-use reserve bordering Kruger National Park and home to a wide variety of wildlife. Lion Sands River Lodge is a beautiful safari lodge overlooking the Sabi River, offering spectacular game viewing and amazing luxury accommodation in a tranquil, natural environment.
Wake up early for a steaming cup of coffee and an exciting morning game drive through the Lion Sands concession – be on the lookout for predators who are at their most active at this time of the day.
Enjoy a pit stop in the bush for a morning snack before returning to the lodge for a delicious full breakfast. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the deck, lounging at the bush spa, enjoying a snooze in your suite or even heading out on a guided nature walk.
The afternoon sees a delightful high tea served before you head out on another game drive. Enjoy a romantic sunset stop at a scenic spot for sundowner drinks before continuing the drive in the growing dark armed with a powerful spotlight in search of the Sabi Sand's nocturnal creatures. Return to camp for an African-inspired meal under the stars.

Savour your last morning in the beautiful Sabi Sands reserve and bid farewell to the friendly staff as you head back with your guide to Skukuza Airport for your journey home or onward.
All three of my favourite areas in South Africa – Cape Town, the Winelands and Kruger - are combined in this package. The Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel is such a lovely, intimate property that is centrally located and within walking distance of some of the most delicious and quaint restaurants on Kloof and Bree Streets. Then you make your way to the spectacular Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Winelands where the beautiful scenery and vineyards make for the perfect romantic setting. I especially love the wine and chocolate pairings here. Lastly, head to Big 5 country where your love affair with the African bush will begin!
