The real-life experience is nothing short of spectacular.

In this epic 13-day journey, the combination of two flagship East African safari destinations, Kenya’s Masai Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti already promises an incredible safari.  The addition of the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, home to the Big 5, Lake Manyara National Park and hidden gem, Tarangire National Park finishes it off beautifully. Each stop sees you accommodated in complete luxury strategically placed to ensure superb game viewing and experiencing bucket-list add-ons like a hot-air balloon safari.

Day 5-7: Cross Border to Tanzania’s Serengeti | 3 Nights

Up arrow
Grumeti Reserves, Tanzania

Savour your last breakfast at Angama Mara as you admire the Mara panorama one last time, today you make the cross-border journey south to Tanzania’s Serengeti. Your guide will drive you back to the airstrip where you’ll board your flight to the Serengeti Grumeti Reserve’s Sasakwa Airstrip. You’ll be met again on arrival at Sasakwa by a Singita representative and driven to your next stop and home for the next three nights, the exquisite exclusive-use Singita Explore.

Singita Explore is a mobile tented camp which combines the authenticity of camping in the most incredible Serengeti landscapes, without forfeiting any comfort and service expected from a 5-star lodge experience. The large canvas tents are fully equipped with en-suite facilities, including running water for the shower and toilet. You’ll also have a cosy lounge area inside and seating in front of the tent for the perfect armchair safari experience. The camp, unlike most other mobile tented camps, has its own swimming pool for you to enjoy on hotter days. Enjoy a massage from the on-site therapist and savour your sun salutations on your suite’s dedicated yoga mat.

The camp's inviting atmosphere may make you reluctant to depart, but you are in Big Five country and the game drives will be nothing short of exhilarating. Head out with your expert guide on walking safaris on the concession, game drives for exciting wildlife encounters, scenic sundowners and coffee stops along the way. Book a hot-air balloon safari for the chance to float serenely over the Serengeti plains. Return to camp each evening to a welcoming campfire, an outstanding wine selection, and a gourmet dinner under a blanket of stars.

Day 8-9: To the Slopes of a Centuries-Old Volcanic Crater | 2 Nights

Up arrow
Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

It’s likely you will be sad to leave Singita Explore, but there is more still to enjoy. Next up is the famous centuries-old volcanic caldera. This has become an ecosystem home to the Big 5 and a plethora of African plains game including the endangered African wild dog and world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah. After a last morning at Singita Explore, your guide will drive you to the airstrip where you’ll fly to Laka Manyara Airstrip. Waiting for you at the airstrip will be a private safari vehicle. Your driver and guide will accompany you for all your transfers and safari activities for the next three days.

Your next accommodation, Gibb’s Farm, is a beautiful manor house nestled in the lush gardens of a fragrant coffee plantation, on the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. After six days of action-packed safari, you can enjoy a change of pace. Spend the afternoon at the spa, lounging by the swimming pool, relish farm-to-table meals, and stroll around the coffee plantations. With a dedicated vehicle and guide, you have the option to explore nearby sights, but day nine promises a full-day adventure with an early start to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater ridge offers breathtaking views, while the crater floor provides iconic game viewing. You may have the chance to spot endangered white and black rhinos. During your exploration, enjoy regular stops with snacks, drinks, and a Gibb's farm-fresh packed lunch. Afterward, return to Gibb's for a warm, cosy fire and a delectable dinner.
