Onguma Tented Camp
A romantic safari escape awaits you at Onguma Tented Camp, situated on a private game reserve near Etosha National Park. Defined by luxurious textures, muted tones and earthy sophistication, the camp is the ideal location for exploring this wildlife area in complete safari-chic style.
Explore the area on morning, afternoon or night drives or venture into the bush on a guided walk through age-old game migration routes. See the black rhino that the lodge monitors and protects as well as other elusive wildlife such as the eland and scimitar-horned oryx.
This camp is ideal for honeymooners and couples (no children under 12 are permitted as guests). In the Herero language, onguma means, ‘The place you don’t want to leave’, a fitting name for this indulgent accommodation in northern Namibia.

Onguma Tented Camp consists of seven spacious, beautifully decorated tents. Each faces the floodlit waterhole and allows for breath-taking views of the bush.
Superb attention to detail has been paid to stylish touches such as the oversized European pillows, the muted colours of the linen as well as the stone, steel and earthy tones of the tents. Each tent is fitted with an indoor and outdoor shower, a modern bathtub, a separate toilet, stone basins and a private sitting area.
Relax on the lounge chairs as you watch game congregate at the popoular nearby waterhole, or take a refreshing dip in the rim-flow swimming pool to escape the Namibian heat.

Onguma Tented Camp serves meals in the open-air boma area where you will be treated to an excellent fusion of European and traditional African cuisine. One of the highlights at the camp is enjoying dinner around an open fire under the starry Namibian sky.

‘The staff was falling over us to ensure attentive service. The tented lodging was unique but not luxurious.’
Fantastic tents with great views on their waterhole.
Large beautifully designed and decorated tents and of course the living and dining areas superb. Bath with soaking hot water, very comfortable bathroom area. Excellent food. Their reserve that they are in has cleared bush, so its possible to see plenty of animals. Our night drive with a guide resulted in a black rhino mummy with her baby. Plenty of other game, civet, genet, antelope, etc etc.
It was very special, a bit more modern, vibe than your typical lodge. Great service. Great food. Would come back to stay there, but I personnaly think the drives in Onguma were not special.
