Start your adventure by exploring the Masai Mara’s great plains, searching for the Big 5 and, if your timing is right, witnessing the migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest. Switch things up by ditching the game drive vehicles for a hot-air balloon safari over the Mara plains, providing a panoramic view and watch the raw beauty of the wild unfold from a new perspective as you float above treetops.
Your next great destination is nothing less than Victoria Falls, where you can enjoy a range of exciting adrenalin adventures and marvel at this incredible sheet of falling water. Then head down to South Africa where you enjoy another sublime big game experience in a private Kruger National Park reserve before jetting down to Africa’s favourite destination – Cape Town – to end your tour by experiencing all that this vibrant and diverse city has to offer.

Itinerary
Day to day
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi for a night at Hemingways, a luxury boutique hotel in the tranquil and upscale neighbourhood of Karen. It’s the perfect place to rest and relax before your safari. The spa and swimming pool make for great ways to unwind. Catch up online with their high-speed internet or have a workout session in the gym in preparation for the next leg of your African adventure.
After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to nearby Wilson Airport for your flight to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s wilderness heartland.
On arrival, you will travel to Naboisho Camp, situated in a private concession in the Mara. If time permits, head out on your first game drive in the afternoon to get acquainted with your spectacular surroundings before returning to the camp for dinner. Or embark on a hot-air balloon safari over the Masai Mara, providing a unique opportunity to see and experience the surrounding nature and wildlife from the air. Floating above the reserve, you’ll see the herds of buffalo and zebra go about their daily rituals, with heads of giraffe popping up between treetops, foraging for food. Experience a safari from a birds-eye view as you sail 300 metres (1,000 feet) off the ground, taking in the panoramic views of the Masai Mara plains before being treated to champagne and a full English breakfast.
The following three days will be dedicated to exploring this world-famous game park, scanning its rolling savannah for the Big 5 as you enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives.
Return to the camp between game drives to enjoy delicious meals, relax on the daybed or take an afternoon nap. If your timing is right and you visit the Masai Mara between June and November, you could catch the great herds of the Wildebeest Migration. The crocodile-infested Mara River is the scene of dramatic river crossings and the Migration generally ensures plenty of high-octane predator action.
After breakfast, return to Wilson Airport to catch your flight back to Jomo Kenyatta this morning. From here, a flight takes you to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone, Zambia.
Here you are met and transferred to Tongabezi Lodge, an excellent romantic African retreat on the banks of the great Zambezi River. You will be staying in the Nut House – a beautiful glass-tiled suite that opens up onto a private garden and infinity plunge pool – the highlight of which is the incredible views of the Zambezi from its raised perch.
The lodge is located just upstream from Victoria Falls. Start your day of adventure early and head out to enjoy all that Africa’s ‘Adrenalin Capital’ has to offer. You can bungee jump from the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water raft down the Zambezi River or board a microlight to view this magnificent sheet of falling water from the air.
Other activities include canoeing, elephant-back safaris, shopping at markets and game drives. Experience ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ on a guided tour or simply take a stroll through Victoria Falls National Park, enjoying the waterfall’s surrounding rainforest and stopping at the viewpoints for wonderful photo opportunities.
Bid farewell to Victoria Falls as you return to the airport and fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in South Africa. Once here, you head to Simbambili Game Lodge, a luxury safari lodge ideal for the discerning traveller. Your home for the next three nights is the Waterhole Suite, a stylish, beautiful room that boasts stunning views of the waterhole – a favourite drinking spot for resident game.
The lodge is located in the exclusive Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a Big 5 area renowned for its exceptional wildlife viewing. Like in Kenya, your days will be filled with exciting morning and afternoon game drives, high teas and savouring the life-giving force of the African sunshine.
In between, browse the boutique, slip into the spa for a secret beauty treatment or rejuvenating massage, work out at the gym or simply sit out on your private deck and enjoy the antics of passing birds and game.
Enjoy one final morning game drive before transferring to Skukuza Airport for your flight to Cape Town International Airport. Once in the Mother City, you are met and transferred to the Belmond Mount Nelson, one of the most famous hotels in Africa, situated in the fashionable and convenient neighbourhood of Gardens and within walking distance of the vibrant city centre.
For three days, you can unwind by enjoying the hotel’s famous high tea or exploring this amazing, multi-faceted city. Hike or take the cable car up Table Mountain, enjoy a boat ride to historic Robben Island or travel down the peninsula and visit the endangered African penguins at Boulders Beach on your way to Cape Point. Head over to Clifton to relax on its beautiful beaches or stroll down the Camps Bay Strip and take your pick of the area’s many upmarket restaurants, cafes and bars.
A short walk from the Belmond Mount Nelson will bring you to buzzing Long, Kloof and Bree Streets as well as the city’s markets, museums and art galleries. A visit to the ever-popular V&A Waterfront will have you shopping your day away, or enjoying a sunset boat cruise in Table Bay.
Fit in another short activity today before you are transferred back to Cape Town International in time for your ongoing travel arrangements.
