Itinerary information

The adventure begins as you're greeted by your driver at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A short drive leads you to Nairobi Tented Camp, a mere ten minutes from the airport. Your game drive begins right away, as you enter Nairobi National Park. Situated right on the outskirts of the bustling city, the park is home to an impressive array of animals. Although it is not on the same level as the Masai Mara, it will give you a small taste of what's still to come. You might spot giraffes, buffalo, and the elusive lions that seek refuge in the park’s shade.

Upon reaching the camp, settle into your cozy canvas suite, after which a delectable lunch awaits beneath the canopy of a sprawling tree. As the late afternoon descends, you embark on another thrilling game drive. Here, the possibility of spotting a rare rhinoceros becomes tantalizingly real, and you’ll have the unique chance to capture African plains game against the backdrop of Nairobi’s iconic skyscrapers.

Following your breakfast, a driver will transfer you to Kenya's domestic airport, Wilson Airport, for your small aircraft flight to the Mara. This short flight offers captivating views of the lush landscape below. Upon arrival at the airstrip, a guide will be waiting to meet you and your introduction to the reserve begins on the drive to camp. Arrive to a warm welcome and a delightful lunch accompanied by a refreshing beverage.

Your haven for the next three nights is the mesmerizing Governors’ Camp, a place once frequented by Kenya’s colonial governors. Each en-suite tent boasts an extraordinary view from its deck—some overlooking the sweeping plains and others affording glimpses of the meandering Mara River.

While in camp, enjoy the presence of a resident warthog family that roams freely, occasionally making way for visiting elephants, known to drop by during lunchtime. On one morning, opt for the thrilling opportunity for an add-on hot-air balloon safari. As dawn breaks, you set out from camp, arriving at the natural launch site at Little Governors’ Camp. Witness the warm glow of the burners as the crew readies the balloon for take-off. Then, as the balloon inflates and gracefully ascends, you gently and almost silently float aloft, secure in the basket below. An experience to remember.
