Xugana was a smaller lodge and more to our liking. Again, the accommodation was comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. The water safaris were a new experience for us and very enjoyable. The nature walk was a welcome change from sitting still for hours on trips out. On our last night, we were treated to a special dinner out on the lagoon with just ourselves and a member of staff serving food and drinks. It was a wonderful end to this leg of the holiday.
After breakfast, embark on a dramatic boat transfer through the winding waterways of the Okavango Delta to Xugana Island Lodge – an initmate lodge set among a grand canopy of trees. Have lunch and set out to explore the world’s largest inland delta on an afternoon game drive that turns into a dusk drive as you head back to camp after sundowner drinks.
The next morning continue your exploration of the area on a tranquil mokoro ride, go bird watching or head out on foot for a guided nature walk. Embark on another game drive in the late afternoon, and as you head home in the early evening, keep a close eye out for the Delta’s nocturnal animals that are starting to become active.
