Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town

Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town | 4 Nights

Touch down at Cape Town International Airport where you collect your rental car and drive to Kensington Place, your hotel for the next four nights. Boasting views of both Table Mountain and the city lights, this hotel is situated in fashionable Higgovale, the perfect central base from which to explore this vibrant city.

Days 2-4: Discover the sights of Cape Town

Your days are spent visiting and experiencing some of the best sights, beaches, shops and restaurants that Cape Town has to offer. Stroll down to bustling Greenmarket Square, visit a museum or two, take a walk through the Company's Gardens or head up Table Mountain via the revolving cable car. Marvel at the indigenous fynbos in the spectacular Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and take a scenic drive to the stunning Cape Point Nature Reserve. Then take a boat trip to visit Robben Island and see Nelson Mandela's former prison cell before heading back to the V&A Waterfront for cosmopolitan, upmarket shopping and dining. Taste a range of exquisite wines on nearby wine estates or enjoy a cultural tour of the city. Spend your evenings dining at one of the Mother City's award-winning restaurants or kick back with a gourmet burger in vibrant Kloof or Bree Streets.

Days 5-8: Go in search of Africa's Big 5 | 3 Nights

Kruger National Park, Kruger Private Reserves, South Africa

Head back to Cape Town International today where you catch your morning flight to Kruger Airport. On arrival you are met and transferred to Singita Ebony Lodge, located in the heart of the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve that borders the unfenced Kruger National Park. Wake up early for a steaming cup of coffee under jackalberry trees before setting out on early morning game drives to track the Big 5 and other classic animals. Return for a hearty breakfast on the deck enjoying the view of the Sand River. Set out on a guided safari walk to get closer to this incredible ecosystem but you may prefer to spend the heat of the day relaxing around the swimming pool or enjoying a massage on your private deck. Mid-afternoon high tea is served on the deck, after which you head off on your afternoon game drives. Enjoy sundowner drinks in the bush and listen to the soft hum of the crickets as the stars appear. Return to camp for a delicious outdoor dinner around the boma, listening to bush stories from the past and learning more about the local Shangaan culture.

Day 8-10: Marvel at the Victoria Falls | 2 Nights

In the morning you catch your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. On arrival you will be met and transferred to The Royal Livingstone for the next two nights. A mere stone's throw from majestic Victoria Falls, The Royal Livingstone serves as the ideal base from which to see 'The Smoke that Thunders'. Spend your time indulging in all that the area has to offer as you go white-water rafting down the mighty Zambezi River or enjoy an elephant-back safari in the beautiful Victoria Falls National Park. Hold your breath and bungee jump off the bridge or enjoy a thrilling micro-light or helicopter flip over the Falls. Cool off and regain your breath at the hotel's Victorian-themed pool, wander through the landscaped gardens and simply enjoy the historic elegance of The Royal Livingstone.

Days 10-12: Experience the Zambezi River | 2 Nights

Today you check into Royal Chundu, a luxurious lodge on the life-giving Zambezi River. Your mornings begin early with a light breakfast and coffee before you set off on either a fishing trip, bird-watching expedition or game viewing to see the animals that come to the river to drink. Return to Royal Chundu for a delicious lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing on the deck with a drink in hand, taking in the stunning surroundings. Enjoy a leisurely high tea, followed by a gourmet dinner and stargazing in the evenings - the perfect way to end off the day. On your last day, you make your way back to Livingstone, from where you say farewell to Africa.
