Itinerary information

Upon arrival in Johannesburg, fly to Mpumalanga International Airport, where a driver will meet you for a road transfer to the elegant Savanna Private Game Lodge. Enjoy a three-night stay in the canvas-chic luxury suite. The lodge is situated in a game-rich area of the Sabi Sands Nature Reserve, sharing an unfenced border with the renowned Kruger National Park, allowing for excellent sightings of free-roaming game.

As one of the oldest private parks in South Africa, the reserve offers 65,000 hectares of exclusive conservancy that have become home to hundreds of wildlife species. During your stay at the lodge, a private game vehicle and specialist guide will be at your disposal — ideal for adventurers seeking curated safari excursions, such as spending an entire day tracking the movements of a pride of lions. Alternatively, you can immerse yourself in tranquillity by exploring the reserve on foot, with a guide ready to uncover the secrets of the bush.

The lodge itself offers ample spots to enjoy an armchair safari experience. Alongside a relaxing pool area that overlooks the lush bushveld, a loft provides a bird’s-eye view of the local watering hole — commonly frequented by large herds of elephants. After a long day exploring the reserve, you are invited to book a massage treatment at the on-site spa or to simply enjoy a dip in the heated plunge pool at your private lodgings. Evenings are concluded with exquisite bush dining in a traditional Shangaan boma, creating a romantic starlit meal experience.
