Your self-drive exploration of Cape Town begins after touching down at Cape Town International Airport where you collect your rental car. Driving into the city, you will head to Gardens, a leafy neighbourhood at the foot of Table Mountain, where you will be spending four nights at Welgelegen House on a bed-and-breakfast basis. From your convenient base, you are able to easily explore all that the Mother City has to offer, and all in your own time. Camps Bay, Clifton’s series of sandy beaches and the ever-popular V&A Waterfront are within a short drive away. Other adventures that are well worth having include spending a day out in the Cape Winelands, driving along the Cape Peninsula to its dramatic point, or discovering the Cape floral kingdom at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. In the evenings, return to your tranquil base for a peaceful night, or get ready for dinner in the city – just a hop-and-skip from your doorstep.

Bid farewell to Cape Town and take a final drive to the airport for your flight to Hoedspruit – your gateway to Kruger National Park. From Hoedspruit, a shared transfer takes you to Kapama Private Game Reserve where you will spend three nights in a traditional tented suite at Kapama Buffalo Camp on a fully-inclusive basis. Here you can track the Big 5 on open 4×4 vehicles and have close encounters with habituated elephants.

There are just 10 tented suites in the entire camp so you will enjoy attentive service. Your suite overlooks the riverbed, is fully serviced and is equipped with a king-sized bed, large deck and an en suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Other facilities at the lodge include a state-of-the-art spa, a gym and a lap pool. Optional extra activities to enjoy include hot-air ballooning and spending a night under the twinkling sky in a romantic starbed.

Return to Hoedspruit via shared transfer for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport. Landing in Johannesburg, a hotel shuttle service will take you D’Oreale Grande, located not far from the airport at the famous Emperors Palace – Johannesburg’s premier gaming, entertainment and hotel centre. Here you can catch a live show, pamper yourself at the spa, try your luck at the gaming tables, or simply enjoy dinner and a movie.

In the morning, you’ll be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport for a scheduled flight to Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. After touchdown, you will be met and transferred to Ilala Lodge, which is located just minutes from the mesmerising Victoria Falls. From Ilala you can clearly see the Fall’s spray billow above the horizon, and on foot you are just minutes from the entrance to this incredible natural phenomenon.

Ilala Lodge is a comfortable and charming safari-style lodge that has a lovely open restaurant and beautiful lawns. The national park borders the front of the property, so wildlife is often spotted grazing close by. Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River have a lot to offer: enjoy boat cruises, micro lighting, bungee jumping, white water rafting, helicopter rides and more.

On your final day, transfer from Ilala to the Victoria Falls Airport, for a return flight to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for your onward travel arrangements.
